Archival history | Little information is available on this subject. The documentary gaps are certain but can be explained in different ways: disasters related to wars and armed conflicts, relocations, etc. |
Description | The documents described are divided into two main documentary collections corresponding to the community's two settlements in Jerusalem: Saint-Pierre en Gallicante and Notre-Dame-de-France. |
System of arrangement | The following research instrument was produced by Emeline Rotolo and Emmanuelle Giry, archivists at the Archives nationales de France, during a mission carried out as part of the Open Jerusalem Project. This European research project aims to identify available sources on the history of Jerusalem for the period 1840-1940. The proposed description respects as much as possible the arrangement in which the archivists discovered the fonds (articulation between a Saint-Pierre en Gallicante part and a Notre-Dame de France part). A summary inventory was carried out in 1985 by the Italian However, since the completion of this inventory, deficits may have appeared (registers); these have been indicated in the following directory. Consequently, the 2017 work did not lead to a new listing or restructuring of the fund; the original order was preserved, even if within the material units, files could be reconstituted. |
